Used to be, getting a gasoline credit card, or a credit card from Sears, was the way to first establish credit for many young people. The easy access to credit cards in the last three decades is what mainly caused people to get into debt in the first place.

I feel that the best way to solve the long-term unemployment problem is to allow those over the age of 55 who cannot find suitable employment to collect full Social Security benefits (by retiring early), at the same level as somebody retiring at age 65.

And those same dump truck drivers try to shirk their responsibility by posting signs on their trucks that say "Stay Back 50 Feet-Not Responsible For Broken Windshields" or "Not Responsible For Objects Coming From Road". I've had at least a few windshields chipped or cracked from stray stones.

IMHO, if someone over 55 cannot find employment, especially if they are over 60, they should be allowed to collect full Social Security benefits at the same level if they retired at 65. This would partially solve the problem with the long-term unemployment of older workers.
